PCS Logistics recently organized a specialized training program on Halal standards, led by Mr. Ramlan Bin Osman, Head of the National Halal Certification Center of Malaysia (HALCERT). The program focused on the application of international Halal standards and provided guidance on implementing the Halal Assurance System (HAS) within logistics operations.

Recognizing the increasing stringency of Halal standards in global supply chains, particularly for export goods, PCS Logistics has identified the need to build a solid foundation encompassing knowledge, systems and personnel to serve the Halal market professionally and sustainably.

The training program was structured around 4 key pillars, each contributing to PCS’s goal of building a Halal compliant logistics ecosystem from the inside out:

Comprehensive understanding of Halal Logistics

PCS employees were equipped with foundational knowledge of Shariah-compliant practices, including how to identify and manage non-Halal (Haram) elements, the sertu purification process and how to align warehouse, transportation and personnel procedures with Halal operational requirements.

Systematic adoption of international Halal standards

The program introduced key Halal logistics standards such as MS 1500, MS 2400-1, MS 2400-2 and TCVN 12944, helping participants understand their structure and learn how to apply them across every point of the logistics chain.

Implementation of the Halal Assurance System (HAS)

Trainees received hands-on guidance on how to establish and maintain an effective Halal Assurance System within the organization, covering risk management, Halal Control Points (HCPs) and systems for traceability, monitoring, and transparent corrective action.

Enhancing capacity to serve Halal-focused markets

Beyond compliance, the training emphasized service mindset encouraging PCS staff to understand the cultural values and consumer behaviors of Muslim-majority markets. By cultivating empathy, precision, and respect in every operational step, PCS aims to offer a genuinely reliable and culturally aligned service experience.

PCS Logistics' proactive standardize: Connecting to the global Halal Market
