As part of an international exchange program between Van Lang University and the Trisakti Institute of Tourism (Indonesia), PCS Logistics participated in the seminar “Meet Halal Experts - Vietnam’s Readiness for Halal Tourism.” The event served as a valuable opportunity for PCS to engage in dialogue and gain insights into the role of logistics in the Halal industry, an area receiving growing strategic attention from the Vietnamese government.

Exploring Vietnam’s Halal tourism potential through lessons from Indonesia

Organized by the Faculty of Tourism - Van Lang University, the seminar brought together Halal experts, researchers, businesses, and students from both countries. Discussions focused on the current landscape and growth potential of Halal tourism in Vietnam, alongside the practical requirements for delivering services that align with Islamic principles.

Key topics included Muslim-friendly accommodations, Halal-certified food and beverage services, prayer facilities, and culturally respectful hospitality practices. Experiences shared by Indonesian representatives, drawing from one of the region’s most mature Halal ecosystems, offered valuable lessons that may inspire Vietnam’s journey in this space.

PCS Halal Logistics learning to connect, connecting to standardize

As a logistics provider in the process of aligning services with Halal standards, PCS Halal Logistics joined the seminar with an open and collaborative mindset. The goal was to better understand the logistics demands behind Halal tourism, particularly in areas such as hygiene control, transportation processes, and warehousing for goods that support the domestic Halal service chain.

In reality, more Muslim travelers are showing interest in local Vietnamese experiences such as traditional coffee, pho, and using Halal-friendly travel apps during their stay. To truly meet these expectations, coordinated efforts across sectors are needed, including logistics, which plays a critical role in ensuring that products are transported, stored, and distributed in compliance with Halal requirements.

Building logistics solutions for the Halal industry requires more than operational excellence. It calls for cultural awareness, religious respect, and transparent partnerships throughout the value chain. PCS Logistics remains committed to working alongside organizations, businesses, and experts to help shape a standardized and reliable Halal logistics ecosystem in Vietnam, starting with meaningful engagements like this seminar.
